Krita Digital Art

This is my second picture using the Krita program. Drawing with the mouse is a little bit tricky, but I am learning and having a good time. I hope everyone enjoys these pictures.

Krita Digital Art

This is the first complete project using the Krita digital art program. I used the watercolor brushes they have available. I think it is neat that you can create these effects on a computer. My favorite part is creating colorful skies.

Digital Art with Krita

Sunflowers

Watercolor

I found a cool computer program called Krita to do digital art with. It has a lot of capability and I’m looking forward to learning how to use it. There are a lot of cool brushes that you can use. I am excited to use the program because you can make art that looks like a painting. I am going to try the watercolor brushes and some brushes that look like oil paint. I am excited that I can do this on the computer because I haven’t been able to do projects that look like paintings for a long time. I don’t have the hand movement to paint and haven’t for years. I have posted a couple of pictures that I created while just trying some things out. Hopefully I can create some nice projects.

This is the first completed drawing in a series of the National Parks that I have been to. I have already done a drawing of Mount Rainier National Park in my Cascade volcanoes series, so the series includes all the other national parks I have visited. I have started with Zion National Park. I will follow with Bryce Canyon National Park, Redwood, Yellowstone, and finally Olympic. I am excited about these drawings. They will all be from family photographs with the exception of Yellowstone. This drawing of Zion National Park is from a photograph taken by my brother on a family trip in 2013. I really like how the contrast between the sky and the cliff turned out. I am used to drawing using mostly greens and blues because most of my drawings are from the Pacific Northwest. These desert colors gave me a new challenge. I did a lot of layering to get the correct colors. I am pleased with how it turned out.

This is the final installment of my Cascade volcanoes project. It was a really fun project to draw the four main Cascade volcanoes. I worked really hard on this project and because I was so diligent in working on it I was able to finish it in three months instead of the six months that it usually takes me. I think it turned out great.

This is the third installment in my Cascade volcanoes project. I was worried about how all the dark shallows would turn out, but it ended up working out great. After I finish my Mount Baker picture, which is next, I plan to get a frame with four openings and group all the Cascade volcano drawings together. I am really happy with this drawing.
